Professor Amjad Shad

Consultant Neurosurgeon and spinal surgeon

Mr Amjad Shad is a Consultant Neurosurgeon. Consultations can be arranged with Mr Shad at Core or at his private practices in Warwickshire (please note that no operative procedures are carried out at Core).

During his training in Edinburgh, Oxford and the USA he gained extensive experience in spinal conditions, including complex spinal problems and pain relief. Through his research Mr Shad has developed a new technique to treat cervical disc problems. This offers patients an alternative to the traditional method of harvesting graft from the hip bone, which can be painful. This new technique has improved post-operative recovery rates in most patients.

Conditions treated include:

  • Back and neck pain surgery
  • Prolapse disc surgery
  • Disc replacement surgery
  • Minimally invasive spinal surgery

The wider team at Core frequently collaborate with Mr Shad to prepare and rehabilitate surgical patients.
