Helen Higginson (Counsellor)

Helen has been working as a counsellor for 12 years; she is a person centred therapist focusing on an individual’s self worth and values. Being valued as a person, without being judged, can help an individual to accept who they are, and reconnect with themselves.

Helen works with adults, children and young people and also works in schools with children and young people. Therapies offered by Helen include cognitive and behavioural therapies, humanistic therapies and person-centred therapy

Counselling with Helen can support you in dealing with issues including anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, and life-changes such as bereavement, divorce and separation.

Helen offers a safe, warm, non-judgemental and confidential environment to help you re-balance your inner self and improve your emotional well being.

Training, qualifications and experience include:

  • Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling CBT
  • Rape or Sexual Abuse (ROSA) training.

Helen is a member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (bacp.co.uk) and Counselling for Children and Young People (CCYP) and is DBS checked. Helen is also registered with the Professional Standards Authority (professionalstandards.org.uk).
