Our Treatment Process

All new patients are asked to complete a detailed medical history form to ensure we capture all information that might be relevant to your condition and our care. Our physiotherapist will carry out a detailed physical examination and discuss everything with you.

Recommendations & Initial Treatment Plan

Following your assessment, your physiotherapist will advise the best course of treatment for you. This might be a standalone course of physiotherapy, often including exercise, or alternatively your therapist might recommend that you should be seen by colleagues in the integrated team for best results.

Delivery of Treatment

Treatment protocols generally take between 3 to 6 weeks, or sometimes longer for more long-standing or complex problems. Twice a week or weekly treatments may be gradually extended to fortnightly. Your physiotherapist may also give you recommendations for exercises you can carry out at home to increase your speed of recovery.

At the end of your initial treatment protocol your physiotherapist will review your progress with you. If further treatment is recommended they will discuss this with you including the expected results and any alternative options for you to consider.

Your physiotherapist will advise you at the end of your initial treatment course whether you are likely to require maintenance treatments and at what frequency. If you have been receiving treatment for an injury that has resolved you may not need to come for specific maintenance treatments. If you have a longer term condition or an injury that is likely to recur you may be advised to return at a later date.
